Brenda Ramirez

Brenda Ramirez serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Cardiopulmonary Science and Clinical Coordinator for the Cardiovascular Sonography program within the Department of Cardiopulmonary Science at the School of Allied Health Professions, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC). Her dual role integrates academic instruction with clinical program leadership in cardiopulmonary sciences.

She holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Cardiopulmonary Science and Biological Sciences, establishing a multidisciplinary foundation for her clinical and teaching responsibilities. Her educational background directly supports her specialization in cardiovascular diagnostics and respiratory therapy education.

Ramirez's clinical expertise centers on Cardiovascular Sonography and Vascular Technology, with research interests extending to Cardiopulmonary Science and Neuroscience applications. She teaches foundational courses including Vascular Technology I, II, III and Cardiopulmonary Pathophysiology, shaping curricula for future sonographers and respiratory therapists through evidence-based clinical practices.

Within the departmental structure, she actively contributes to governance through membership on the CPS Admissions Committee, CPS Event Planning Committee, Clinical Coordinators Committee, Community Engagement Committee, and Honors Committee, demonstrating institutional commitment across academic, operational, and community engagement domains.
