Dr. Brenda Mishak is a tenured Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Victoria. Her research program addresses housing security through community/public health frameworks, emphasizing intersectionality of social determinants of health. As a Métis scholar with French/Cree roots, she brings clinical experience from rural Saskatchewan and northern nursing contexts to her academic work.
Her research examines how housing insecurity impacts health outcomes, particularly in Indigenous communities. She has professional experience as a Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
