Brenda Garand is a Professor of Studio Art at Dartmouth College, where she has taught since 1995. Her work explores cultural connections between French and Indigenous peoples of Québec, material symbolism, and environmental themes through sculpture and drawing.

Exhibitions include This Land (Hood Museum, 2022) and Broken Speech (2020), which highlight her exploration of place and physical limitations.
