Brandon Armstrong

Brandon Armstrong is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University's College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. He also serves as an Aquatic Biology Specialist and coordinator of Michigan’s Fish Contaminant Monitoring Program for the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

• Focuses on bioaccumulative contaminants in fish tissue
• Collaborates with university, federal, state, tribal, and provincial agencies
• Oversees per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) surface water monitoring
• Designs watershed-scale studies for source tracking of PFAS contamination

The program provides data for Michigan’s Eat Safe Fish consumption advisories issued by the Department of Health and Human Services.
