Bradley Efron is Max H. Stein Professor and Professor of Statistics and of Health Research and Policy at Stanford University. A pioneering statistician, he developed the bootstrap method that revolutionized computational statistics, substituting computer power for mathematical formulas to extend statistical methodology for complex problems.
