Brad T. Gomez is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Department Chair at Florida State University (FSU). He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University (1999). His research focuses on American Politics, specifically voting behavior, public opinion, Congress, and political psychology. He has co-authored multiple books, including Change and Continuity in the 2020 Elections (2022) and Change and Continuity in the 2012 and 2014 Elections (2016). His work has been published in top journals such as the American Political Science Review and the Journal of Politics. Prior to FSU, Gomez taught at the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina. He actively participates in professional associations like the American Political Science Association (APSA).
Research interests include the measurement of political knowledge, social influences in political networks, and the electoral effects of voter turnout. His current projects explore dynamic models of education and turnout growth, and the impact of voter identification requirements on turnout and Republican vote share.
