Brad Davis

Brad Davis is the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs and Dan B. Franklin Distinguished Professor at the University of Georgia College of Environment and Design. His work bridges ecological planting design with aesthetic innovation, focusing on native plant integration in urban and healthcare contexts.

• Licensed landscape architect with practice experience in South Florida and East Tennessee
• Teaches community masterplanning, healing gardens, and conservation design
• Develops strategies to enhance cultural appeal of native plants

His research explores ecological aesthetics and urban green infrastructure, addressing perceptions of native plants in human-dominated landscapes. Recent projects include testing perennial grass-forb mixes for sustainable urban landscaping.

Scientific recognition includes the Dan B. Franklin Distinguished Professor title. He actively engages in plein air teaching and experimental gardening, while leading CED's annual field trips to study iconic landscape works.
