His research focuses on Earth Observation data to study terrestrial ecosystems, environmental/climate change impacts, and the global carbon cycle. He leads the MSc in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing program.
Research interests include developing methods for retrieving bio-geophysical variables, understanding environmental changes on vegetation, and quantifying carbon dynamics. Current projects involve EO4CerealStress (crop stress monitoring), SEN4GPP (GPP estimation), and FruitSense (tree crop yield mapping). Awards include the RSPSoc Len Curtis Award (2019).
- Teaching: Remote Sensing in MSc programs.
- Supervises four PhD students in Geography and Environmental Science.
- External roles include invited speaking on remote sensing in disease monitoring (2019).
Key collaborations involve ESA and STFC-funded projects on EO applications in agriculture, climate, and ecosystems.
