Bonnie Nakasuji is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California’s Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She is also co-owner of Therapy West, Inc., and an internationally recognized leader in pediatric occupational therapy for children with physical and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Her work emphasizes sensory integration and clinical practice innovations.
Dr. Nakasuji holds a BS (1973), MA (1994), and OTD (2008) in Occupational Therapy from USC. Her professional certifications include the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test and Neuro-Developmental Treatment. She has served in leadership roles within the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and other organizations for decades.
Her research focuses on transition programs for high-risk youth and interventions for autism spectrum disorder. Notably, she coordinates the Leadership Capstone externship at Ghana’s Mephibosheth Training Center, earning the AOTA International Service Award (2017).
