About
Bojan Z. Vulović is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, specializing in Organic Chemistry. He holds a PhD from the same institution (2014) and has held academic positions since 2007, progressing from Teaching Assistant to his current role. His research focuses on organic synthesis, organocatalysis, and organometallic chemistry, with emphasis on developing synthetic methodologies for natural products and bioactive molecules.
Education:
- Bachelor of Chemistry (2002–2007), Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade
- PhD in Chemistry (2007–2014), Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade
Research Interests: Dr. Vulović’s work spans organocatalytic domino reactions, transition-metal catalysis, and biologically active compound design. He has pioneered methods for cyclopropanone synthesis, oxyallyl cation utilization, and gold(I)-catalyzed cyclization processes. His projects address challenges in asymmetric synthesis and drug discovery.
Grants & Projects:
- 2022–2025: New SMART Synthesis (Science Fund of Serbia)
- 2021: MeMEAS (Science Fund of Serbia)
- 2020: SMART Repurposing (Science Fund of Serbia)
Other Activities: He coordinated science outreach programs like 'Museum Night' and 'Science Festival' (2012–2016), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Delaware (2016–2017). He teaches Advanced Organic Chemistry and Organic Reaction Mechanisms.
Labs & Facilities: His laboratory is located in Room 416 at the Faculty of Chemistry, with an adjacent research office (416A).
