Bogdan Pikulicki

Bogdan Pikulicki is a Professor at the Department of Graphic Arts, Lviv National Academy of Arts, where he has served as a long-time lecturer and heads the Graphic Arts and Illustration Studio. He is an internationally exhibited Ukrainian graphic artist with decades of contributions to printmaking and mixed media art.

He graduated from the Lviv Polygraphic Institute (now the Academy of Printing) in 1972, establishing his foundation in graphic techniques.

Prof. Pikulicki's research centers on the graphic matrix as both conceptual object and carrier of artistic ideas, preserving the unique beauty of classical printmaking while pioneering experimental approaches. His work notably explores the transfer of graphic images onto ceramics, merging traditional techniques with contemporary material innovations to expand the boundaries of graphic arts.

His exceptional career has been honored with prestigious international awards:

• Ivan Trush Award, Lviv, Ukraine (2009)
• Silver Medal at International Triennale of Graphics, Kyiv, Ukraine (2018)

With over one hundred group exhibitions across Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and beyond, Prof. Pikulicki has held solo shows in Kyiv (1994), Warsaw (1997), Munich (2004), and Lviv (2008). His works reside in major collections throughout Ukraine, Western Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. As an active juror for international competitions and co-organizer of the decade-long Mariusz Kazana 'Indeks' Competition (2012-2022), he has significantly advanced Polish-Ukrainian artistic collaboration and nurtured emerging talent.
