Bobbie Emetu

Bobbie Emetu is an Associate Professor of Public Health Education in the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), with affiliations as a Queer Studies Faculty member and Coordinator of the Human Sexuality Minor. She holds dual degrees in Public Health (M.P.H.) and Epidemiology (Ph.D.) from Indiana University, complemented by advanced training in library science (M.L.S.) and biological sciences (B.S.).

Her research concentrates on sexual health education, HIV/AIDS prevention, and STI risk behaviors, with specific attention to condom use errors, stigma reduction, and trauma-informed health interventions. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in community health, health behavior theory, HIV/STI prevention, research methodology, and queer health studies.

As coordinator of the Human Sexuality Minor, Dr. Emetu bridges interdisciplinary perspectives in public health and LGBTQ+ advocacy. She works from JD 3533 in CSUN’s Health Sciences building, maintaining an active schedule of applied research and instruction.
