Bo Zou

Bo Zou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Materials Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), affiliated with the Urban Transportation Center. His research focuses on sustainable transportation systems, automated vehicle integration, urban mobility equity, and machine learning applications in traffic management. He holds a Ph.D. and actively contributes to transportation policy and infrastructure planning through interdisciplinary methodologies.

Research interests include optimizing urban air mobility (eVTOL systems), reducing environmental impacts of transportation, and enhancing equity in ride-sourcing and public transit. He explores emerging technologies like truck platooning and connected vehicle systems to improve efficiency and reduce emissions across freight and passenger networks.

Recent publications analyze the feasibility of advanced air mobility for commuting, noise impacts of eVTOL delivery, and equity in CAV lane deployment.
