About
Bo-Jui Chang has served as an Assistant Professor in the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) since 2022. He previously held roles as a Senior Research Scientist (2019–2022) and Assistant Instructor (2017–2019) in Reto Fiolka’s lab at UTSW, and prior postdoctoral positions in labs at Academia Sinica (2016–2017), Goethe University Frankfurt (2011–2016), and National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, Taiwan (2007–2011).
His research focuses on advanced microscopy techniques, particularly light-sheet fluorescence microscopy and structured illumination microscopy (SIM), with applications in high-resolution 3D imaging of cellular dynamics, cancer drug screening in 3D microenvironments, and single-molecule force analysis. His work bridges optical engineering, computational image analysis, and biological applications.
Key trends in his publications include: (1) Innovations in light-sheet generation and 2D/3D image reconstruction; (2) Quantitative assays for drug-induced changes in cell proliferation and viability; (3) Single-molecule studies of integrin-ligand interactions and clustering dynamics.
Grants awarded to his research include NIH K25 CA204526 and R33 CA235254, supporting his work on high-throughput 3D drug screening and imaging technologies.
