Blake Brasch serves as Suzuki Cello Faculty and Coordinator of Suzuki Cello at the Hartt Community Division of The Hartt School, University of Hartford, a position he has held since 2017. With over 25 years of specialized teaching experience, he is a nationally recognized authority in cello pedagogy through the Suzuki method.
His educational background includes a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and graduate studies at Ohio University. Brasch specializes in Music Education and String Pedagogy, focusing on developmental approaches to cello instruction for all skill levels. His methodology emphasizes holistic musical development through the Suzuki philosophy of talent education.
Brasch has received significant professional recognition including the Suzuki Association of the Americas Certificate of Achievement (2009) and Registered Teacher Trainer status (2010). He regularly presents at national conferences and serves as a clinician at institutes across North America.
As an administrator, he directed the Chicago Suzuki Institute and served as Suzuki Program Director at the Music Institute of Chicago for two decades.
