Dr. Blake Smith serves as an Associate Professor of Voice and Opera, and Coordinator of the Voice Area at the University of Delaware's School of Music. He holds MM and DMA degrees from Texas Tech University and a BM from the University of Texas at Tyler. His expertise spans operatic performance, art song interpretation, and pedagogical research in voice literature. As founding Artistic Director of the UD Opera Theatre, he pioneered the OPERA:NOW contemporary chamber opera series, producing 8 world premieres. His research focuses on British vocal music (Vaughan Williams, Britten) and decolonizing music traditions through curriculum reform.
