Dr. Blake Allen is a Lecturer in Philosophy of Religion within the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on the interconnection between truth and beauty, exploring themes such as Platonic transcendentals, aesthetic judgements in science, and the relationship between continental philosophy and theology. He is particularly interested in the spiritual dimensions of philosophy, Romantic-era aesthetics, and the works of Merleau-Ponty.
Current research projects include a monograph on beauty in English Romanticism and articles analyzing the aesthetics in Merleau-Ponty’s writings. Future interests include philosophy as a spiritual practice and the relationship between rationality and hope.
