Blair Kuys

Prof Blair Kuys is the Executive Dean of the School of Design and Architecture at Swinburne University of Technology. He holds a Professorship and specializes in product development, sustainable design, and industry-academia collaboration. With over 20 years of academic leadership, he has secured $6M in individual grants and $9.14M in Category 1 funding, fostering innovation in manufacturing and sustainable technologies. His research emphasizes converting ideas into commercial outcomes, with a focus on architectural products, timber utilization, and urban infrastructure. Notable achievements include three consecutive Good Design Awards (2018–2020) and multiple Vice-Chancellor's Awards.

Prof Kuys leads a world-class product development team and has supervised numerous PhD students. His work spans diverse fields, including generative AI in education, hybrid learning environments, and inclusive war memorial design. He collaborates with global industries on projects like eco-friendly materials, medical devices, and smart furniture.
