Björn Wiemer is a University Professor of Slavic Linguistics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He has held academic positions at the University of Konstanz (Lecturer, 2003–2007; Research Assistant, 1996–2003) and completed his habilitation (2002) and doctoral studies (1996) there. His academic journey began with MA studies in East Slavic Studies, West Slavic Studies, and General Linguistics at the University of Hamburg (1987–1992), followed by postgraduate research in Warsaw (1993–1995) and Leningrad (1990–1991).
