Birte Friedrich

Prof. Dr. Birte Friedrich is a Professor for Mathematics Education in an Inclusive Context at the Institute of Mathematics, University of Potsdam since September 2022. She previously held positions as a Junior Professor for Mathematics Education with a focus on Special Education (tenure track to W2) at the University of Cologne (2019–2022) and as a Temporary Academic Councillor at TU Dortmund University (2018–2019). Her research emphasizes inclusive mathematics teaching, conceptual and lexical learning paths, percentages education, and teacher training.

Her work includes collaborations on projects like School-based practical studies 'Support and Challenge', Open Educational Resources (OER), and integrating AI into mathematics instruction. She supervises academic staff and research associates at the University of Potsdam.
