Birgitte Graverholt

Associate Professor Birgitte Graverholt is affiliated with the Department of Health and Caring Sciences at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). Her clinical background spans acute care, emergency departments, and critical care, with a Master of Clinical Nursing from Flinders University, Australia.

Her research centers on evidence-based practice implementation in healthcare, particularly through projects like IMPAKT which focuses on improving care quality in nursing homes. She also contributes to medical device innovation at Aliva, ensuring evidence-based development of treatments for xerostomia under MDR 2017/745 regulatory standards.

Graverholt teaches Philosophy of Science, Ethics and Research Methods (course MAMET1ABIO) for Spring 2026. Her work bridges academic research, clinical practice, and industry innovation in health service quality improvement.
