Birgit Groner

Birgit Groner serves as Director of the Institute for Further and Continuing Education at Evangelische Hochschule Ludwigsburg, holding a 75% employment contract. She teaches in the CAS Diversity Management and Systemic Organizational Development program as well as the B.A. and M.A. Social Work programs.

Her educational background includes studies in Romance Languages and Pre- and Early History at Tübingen University (1983), a Diploma in Social Pedagogy from Reutlingen (1985), and a Master's in Social Management from Freiburg (2001).

Groner's research focuses on diversity, migration, and social integration, with particular emphasis on cultural mediation in migration societies and multiculturalism's relationship to social cohesion. Her work bridges academic theory with practical application in social work settings, reflecting her belief that 'education should focus on concrete needs and essential elements, while efficient continuing education should unlock potentials for social and diaconal professionals to address changing circumstances.'

Her publications demonstrate a consistent focus on diversity management, anti-discrimination work, and cultural mediation within social contexts.

Professional trajectory includes roles as women's project officer at Terre des Femmes (1992-1997), youth education officer focusing on girls' and women's education (1996-1997), teaching on gender perspectives in social work (1997), and educational consulting (2000-2002). She served as a scientific employee at the Institute for Further and Continuing Education from 2002-2014 before becoming its Director.

Complementing her university position, Groner works freelance as a systemic coach and organizational consultant, applying her expertise in change management and social management to practical organizational contexts.
