Bindi Naik-Mathuria, MD, MPH, FACS, FAAP, is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), serving as Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery. Her expertise spans pediatric trauma, surgical oncology, and global health, with a strong focus on firearm injury prevention and improving outcomes for children in low-resource settings. She holds dual professorial roles in Surgery and Pediatrics (N-T Track Clinical).
Dr. Naik-Mathuria earned her MD from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2003. Her research is anchored in the Life Span Health pillar, addressing critical issues such as pediatric trauma care, surgical innovation in global contexts, and reducing disparities in firearm-related injuries.
