Dr. Bina Ogbebor is a Lecturer in Journalism Studies at the University of Sheffield's School of Information, Journalism and Communication. She joined in February 2020 after serving as casual and full-time staff at Cardiff University's Department of Journalism, Media and Culture (2013-2019). Prior to academia, she worked as a TV reporter, news editor, and producer/presenter.

Research Interests focus on critical journalism incidents, media representation, policy debates, and their democratic implications. Her work examines media power, self-coverage, and the public sphere, with a particular emphasis on accountability mechanisms.
Publications explore algorithmic journalism, media reform, and metadiscourse analysis, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with digital communication and policy studies.

Teaching Activities involve leading the MA Global Journalism program and modules on press reform, media policy, and global journalism research. She also teaches Media, Race, and Racism.
