Bill Prosser

Bill Prosser serves as Director of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Program at George Fox University's College of Nursing. He joined George Fox in 2024 bringing nearly 30 years of clinical experience as a CRNA and 38 years in the nursing profession, including 19 years at UC Davis Medical Center while serving in Army/Navy reserves.

Dr. Prosser's educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degree (1982) and BSN (1986) from University of Maine
• CRNA education at Samuel Merritt University (1996)
• Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (2017) from Virginia Commonwealth University
• Fellowship in acute surgical pain management (2020) from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia

His clinical expertise focuses on innovative anesthesia approaches for improved patient outcomes, particularly in rural settings. Dr. Prosser has developed specialized protocols for enhanced recovery after surgery, opioid-sparing techniques, and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. His work bridges clinical practice with spiritual care, viewing anesthesia as both science and art where providers tailor approaches to individual patient needs, fears, and circumstances.

Dr. Prosser brings extensive teaching experience from coordinating clinical trauma rotations for military student nurse anesthetists at UC Davis for 15 years. He is passionate about developing CRNAs who provide compassionate, evidence-based care while serving as community leaders in healthcare and policy.
