Bill Moak

Bill Moak is an Associate Professor of Public Relations and Chair of the Communication Department at Belhaven University since 2016. He combines 32 years of professional communication experience with academic leadership, guiding students toward careers in journalism, public relations, and digital media.

• Education: B.A. in Journalism (University of Mississippi), M.S. in Communication (University of Southern Mississippi)

His research and professional focus spans public relations, digital media, and Christian worldview communication, particularly in consumer education through his weekly Clarion-Ledger column and book Don’t Eat the Cat Food!. His work emphasizes practical application of communication ethics and strategies across nonprofit, medical, and educational sectors.

Scientific awards include recognition as Rookie of the Year by PRAM Central, Senior Practitioner by SPRF, and Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International. He also contributes to media ministry at Broadmoor Baptist Church and woodwork/upcycling hobbies.
