Bianca Hester

Associate Professor Bianca Hester is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and educator at the University of New South Wales, within the School of Art & Design. Her practice-led research interrogates the environmental aesthetics of the settler-colonial Anthropocene through

• relational feminist methodologies
• experimental fieldwork
• embodied site-writing
• collaborative projects

that explore material conditions across Australian landscapes.

Her recent research Lithic Bodies (funded by Australia Council for the Arts) investigates geological memory through sculptural interventions. Key collaborations include Open Spatial Workshop (2003-present) and the Space, Place and Country research cluster (2013-2016). Hester combines
