Bhavik Patel

Prof. Bhavik Patel is a Professor of Clinical and Bioanalytical Chemistry at the School of Applied Sciences, University of Brighton. His research focuses on developing biosensors for real-time biological signaling analysis, drug stability monitoring in neonatal care, and innovative e-learning tools. He holds prestigious awards including the National Teaching Fellowship (2022) and the Royal Society of Chemistry Excellence in Higher Education Award (2021).

Education: BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical & Chemical Sciences (University of Brighton, 2002); PhD in Bioengineering (Imperial College London, 2005).

Research interests include bioanalytical chemistry, neurotransmitter signaling in aging nervous systems, and educational technology. He leads projects funded by EPSRC and the Royal Society of Chemistry, such as the 'Electrochemical Microfluidic Device for Long-term Culture of Ex vivo Intestinal Models' and 'Integrating Antiracism into the Chemical Sciences Curriculum'.
