Betsy Sinclair is the Thomas F. Eagleton University Professor of Public Affairs and Political Science, Chair of the Department of Political Science, and Assistant Vice Provost for Digital Transformation at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a PhD in Social Science from the California Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Redlands.
Her research focuses on the social foundations of participatory democracy, emphasizing how social networks influence voting, donation behavior, and political party identification. She explores voting technologies, election reforms, and the intersection of technology with political behavior. Sinclair has authored two books, including *The Social Citizen*, which won the Gladys M. Kammerer Award.
Her work has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Weidenbaum Center. Sinclair previously co-directed the Incubator for Transdisciplinary Futures and served as President of the Society of Political Methodology. She is a Fellow of the Society of Political Methodology and serves on editorial boards for journals like the *American Journal of Political Science*.
