She is a member of the Centre for Human and Physical Geography, Centre for Climate Resilient Societies, and Sustainable Living Research Centre. Her work bridges geoscience and social sciences, focusing on palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, geodiversity education, and inclusion in STEM education.
Dr. Fox holds a PhD in Geology and has expertise in sedimentary geology, speleothem analysis, and coastal geomorphology. Her research includes projects funded by the British Academy, Natural England, and the Natural Environment Research Council, addressing topics like geoethics in mining, nutrient monitoring in caves, and fostering belonging in undergraduate geoscience programs.
Her research interests span three key areas: (1) sedimentary geology for environmental change studies, (2) social dimensions of geoscience education and practice, and (3) geology's role in understanding human-environment interactions. She actively collaborates with stakeholders globally, including in the UK, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Notable projects include 'Mining for Meaning' exploring geoethical challenges in mining industries, 'Geodiversity Education at Poole’s Cavern' to promote pro-environmental behavior, and initiatives to improve accessibility in geography/geoscience degrees through co-created recommendations.
