University of Massachusetts AmherstAbout
Bethany A. Bradley is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She holds a Ph.D. from Brown University (2006) and completed postdoctoral training as a Copeland Fellow at Amherst College (2009-2010) and Princeton University (2006-2009). Her research investigates terrestrial ecosystem responses to land use and climate change using remote sensing and geospatial analysis.
Her work focuses on modeling risk from non-native plant invasions in Western U.S. deserts under global change scenarios. Research interests include climate change impacts, geospatial modeling of land cover change, and anthropogenic influences on ecosystems.
Recent publications demonstrate innovations in structural self-sensing materials, capacitance-based stress detection, and electromagnetic properties of construction materials, with applications in infrastructure monitoring and environmental engineering.
Awards include the Copeland Fellowship for advanced research in environmental science.
She directs research on landscape-scale ecological processes and maintains collaborations with conservation organizations for sustainable land management.
