Bethan Copsey

Bethan Copsey is a Medical Statistician at the University of Leeds, affiliated with the School of Medicine and Complex Interventions Division at Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit. Her work focuses on clinical trial design, statistical analysis, and methods for complex interventions, with applications in palliative care and mental health.

Prior to this role, she completed a DPhil in Musculoskeletal Sciences at the University of Oxford and worked as a Medical Statistician at the Centre for Rehabilitation Research in Oxford (RRiO), specializing in systematic reviews and clinical trials related to physiotherapy and musculoskeletal conditions.

She holds a Masters in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics (MMORSE) from the University of Warwick, and her current research emphasizes statistical methodology in clinical trial design, particularly for cluster randomised trials and trial reporting standards.
