Beth Senior serves as Programme Leader for Foundation Year and Games Art, and Academic Lead for Outreach at Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Digital Arts (SODA). With over 19 years of teaching experience in games and creative digital media, she holds an MA in Animation and actively shapes SODA's educational strategy.
Her research centers on decolonizing art curricula and embedding creative practice within non-traditional discourse spaces to drive societal change. As a dual professional, she examines how creative practitioners maintain artistic practice while working in academia, with particular focus on widening participation in arts education. Her work explores how creative output can illustrate cultural narratives and foster positive social transformation.
Beth leads the development of SODA's Foundation Year program and contributes to the BA Game Art curriculum. Her outreach initiatives focus on recruitment and widening participation both locally and internationally. She has presented at educational conferences including the 2018 Educating Animators Academic Conference at the University of Salford, and her work featured in the documentary British Animation Women: Breaking the Mold (Sky Arts, 2018).
