Research emphasizes the interplay between political memory, justice mechanisms, and governance post-conflict. Recent work examines Bosnia’s monument politics and Iraq’s De-Baathification policies, while earlier studies addressed Sierra Leone’s hybrid courts and African conflict pedagogy.
Publications span historical dictionaries, journal articles analyzing truth commissions and tribunals, and pedagogical innovations using simulations and political cartoons. Her 2019 Historical Dictionary of Iraq remains a key reference work.
