Beth Coggeshall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics at Florida State University, where she serves as Coordinator of the Italian Program. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and specializes in medieval Italian literature, particularly Dante's works, focusing on intersections of literature, ethics, and cultural identity. Her research explores Dante’s global reception in contemporary culture and digital humanities methodologies. Key projects include the collaborative digital archive Dante Today and her monograph On Amistà: Negotiating Friendship in Dante’s Italy (2023).
Her academic roles include directing education and outreach for the Dante Society of America and participating in the Demos Institute for Data Humanities.
