Besir Ceka

Dr. Besir Ceka is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at Davidson College. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2013) and was previously a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. His academic work spans international relations, comparative politics, and political psychology.

His research focuses on:

• Public opinion and political behavior in European and post-communist contexts
• European integration and international governance frameworks
• Psychological analysis of conspiracy theories and political tolerance
• Strategies to counter misinformation on social media platforms

Dr. Ceka co-authored the Oxford University Press book Measuring International Authority: A Postfunctionalist Theory of Governance and has published in top journals including Comparative Political Studies, European Union Politics, and Foreign Affairs. He received the Max Weber Fellowship prior to joining Davidson College.
