Prof. Beryl ter Haar is an Endowed Professor of European and Comparative Labour Law at the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and Professor/Head of the Centre for International and European Labour Law Studies (CIELLS) at the University of Warsaw (Poland). She holds a BA in Music (Oboe) from HKU and advanced degrees in Law from Leiden University. Her research focuses on international/EU labour law, new governance models, and transnational private regulation (CSR/TCAs). She has authored/co-authored influential books like Research Handbook on Labour, Business and Human Rights Law (2019) and EU Collective Labour Law (2021).
Education: BA Music (HKU), MA/PhD Law (Leiden University). Awards include the Marco Biagi Award (2011) and Levenbach Prize (2013). She chairs editorial boards for journals like Diritti Lavori Mercati and Italian Labour Law e-Journal, and co-initiated the Hugo Sinzheimer Moot Court Competition.
Research Interests: Labour law enforcement mechanisms, digitalisation's impact on work, transnational legal frameworks, and utopian perspectives in labour law. Active in international collaborations, including the panoptiwork Fellowship (2022).
