About
Bertrand Dano serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering within the College of Engineering at the University of Miami.
Dr. Dano's research focuses on advanced aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, particularly in the area of jet airfoils and flow control mechanisms. His work spans both computational and experimental approaches to understanding complex fluid dynamics phenomena across varying Mach number regimes.
His research has systematically examined coflow jet airfoils, investigating lift enhancement capabilities, drag reduction potential, and energy expenditure optimization. He has employed sophisticated computational methods including Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solvers with fifth-order-weighted essentially non-oscillatory schemes and Large Eddy Simulation techniques to model these complex flows at high angles of attack.
Dr. Dano has collaborated extensively with researchers including Ge-Cheng Zha and has contributed to advancing the understanding of boundary layer control through innovative jet airfoil technology, with publications spanning from 2011 to 2016.
