Bertold Stecher

Bertold Stecher is a Lecturer for Trumpet at the University of Music and Theatre Rostock since April 2022, concurrently serving as a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since August 2022. He holds positions in prestigious ensembles such as PROBrass and has a distinguished orchestral career.

Education: Studied under Prof. Lothar Hilbrand (Feldkirch, Austria) and Prof. Hans Gansch (Salzburg), completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in instrument/vocal teaching with distinction.

Professional Experience: Principal Trumpet of the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento (2012–2017), Trumpet Soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and frequent guest performer with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Active in chamber music through PROBrass since 2011.

Teaching: Focuses on trumpet pedagogy at the university level, combining orchestral expertise with educational practice.
