Bernhard Riecke

Bernhard Riecke is Professor at Simon Fraser University's School of Interactive Arts & Technology, specializing in human-centered technologies. His research explores how immersive virtual environments can enhance spatial cognition, induce transformative experiences, and support mental well-being.

Research focuses on multisensory integration in VR, including spatial orientation mechanisms, vection illusions, and applications in therapeutic contexts like exposure therapy for phobias. Recent work examines how biofeedback and embodied interaction can foster mindfulness and emotional resonance in mixed-reality systems.
