Bernhard Michalowsky

Bernhard Michalowsky serves as Group Leader within the Career Development Fellow Program at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Greifswald, holding the academic title Privatdozent. His work bridges clinical and health services research to enhance patient- and caregiver-relevant outcomes in neurodegenerative diseases through transdisciplinary approaches integrating health economics and digital methodologies.

His research spans Health Economics, Patient-Reported Outcomes, and Implementation Science, with key focuses on validating PROMs (e.g., EQ-5D-ATAX study), analyzing economic burdens of neurodegeneration (e.g., RegioDem study), and implementing evidence-based care models (e.g., DCM:IMPact study). Michalowsky coordinates the Translational Network for Dementia Health Services Research (TaNDem), a DZNE-wide platform enabling stakeholder engagement between researchers, care providers, and affected individuals. This infrastructure standardizes multi-site data collection and facilitates translation of research into clinical practice, directly supporting Germany's National Dementia Strategy through scalable implementation frameworks.
