Bernhard Loder

Bernhard Loder is a researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Engineering, part of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). He contributes to projects focused on energy efficiency in agriculture and agriphotovoltaics, which integrate solar energy production with agricultural practices to enhance biodiversity and sustainability.

• Current projects include "Energy transition as a biodiversity-promoting agricultural value creation model" (2024-2026) funded by Federal Ministries.
• Another project "Energy efficiency in agriculture" (2024-2028) is funded by the European Commission.

Loder co-authored the 2025 publication Ecosystem Agrivoltaics, which explores synergies between renewable energy expansion and agricultural ecosystems. His research intersects agricultural engineering, renewable energy systems, and sustainable land management, with a focus on innovative value chains that align climate action with biodiversity conservation.

He participated in the 6th AgriVoltaics World Conference 2025 as a co-author, addressing ecological design of agrivoltaic systems. His work demonstrates technical expertise in integrating solar infrastructure with agricultural production while maintaining environmental integrity.
