Bernhard Iglseder

Bernhard Iglseder is a full Professor in the Department of Geriatrics at the University of Salzburg. His research focuses on cardiovascular disease, geriatric medicine, and comorbidity management, with a particular interest in preventive strategies and interprofessional collaboration. He leads and co-authors numerous studies on topics including polygenic risk scores, cerebrovascular risks in rheumatoid arthritis, and postoperative delirium prevention in elderly patients.

His academic roles include co-leading the 'EDADS – Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Dementia Salzburg' project and contributing to the Paracelsus 10,000 cohort study. He is actively involved in organizing national conferences, such as the Annual Congress of the Austrian Society for Geriatrics and Gerontology (ÖGGG).

Research interests span geriatric care, cardiovascular epidemiology, and the socioeconomic factors influencing cardiometabolic health. His recent publications emphasize translational research linking genetic risk assessment to clinical outcomes and improving care for aging populations.
