Prof. Dr. Bernd Rech is a physicist and Scientific Director of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) since 2019. He serves as a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University of Berlin and previously headed HZB's Institute for Silicon Photovoltaics (2006-2017). His research focuses on thin-film solar cells, tandem solar cell materials, and renewable energy technologies.
