Bernd Nolting

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Nolting is a faculty member at the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, where he has served since 1996 as Professor of Urban Water Management. He was Dean of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 1999–2005. His career spans international projects in Germany (Düsseldorf, Regensburg, etc.), India, Palestine, China, Russia, Romania, and Bulgaria.

His research focuses on wastewater drainage systems, sewer network calculations, rainwater infiltration, and water-sensitive urban planning. He specializes in addressing urban flash floods, rehabilitation of water supply networks, and hydraulic optimization of drainage systems.
