Bernd Buldt is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Philosophy at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). Previously affiliated with the University of Konstanz's Department of Philosophy, his research focuses on the philosophy of mathematics, history of logic, and analytical philosophy. He has conducted extensive work on Gödel's incompleteness theorems, their implications for formal systems, and historical studies of figures like Paul Bernays and Rudolf Carnap. His editorial projects include compiling the Selected Papers of Paul Bernays and the Collected Works of Rudolf Carnap. Buldt's habilitation thesis explored the philosophy and methodology of 19th-century science, particularly the development of probability theory in Germany. He has contributed to encyclopedias such as the Historisches Wörterbuch der Philosophie and Pauly-Wissova. His current projects include PhiMSAMP (sociological aspects of mathematical practice) and textbook development from lecture notes.
