Berend Bohlmann

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Berend Bohlmann is a Professor of Construction and Strength of Ships/Ship Elements at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Fachhochschule Kiel. He leads the Ship Strength Laboratory and serves as counselor for the Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering Master's program. His research focuses on structural integrity of ships, fatigue behavior of materials, and advanced welding techniques.

Research interests center on ship design optimization, vibration analysis in marine structures, and additive manufacturing applications in maritime engineering. Recent publications analyze titanium alloy fatigue in additive-manufactured components and computational methods for weld stress modeling.
