Bente Frisk is a Professor at the Department of Health and Functioning at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), affiliated with the Master's in Clinical Physiotherapy program. She holds a PhD from the University of Bergen with a thesis on exercise capacity in COPD patients and is a certified specialist in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy (MNFF).
Her research focuses on rehabilitation for chronic conditions including COPD, long COVID, and chronic health challenges, incorporating health service innovation and respiratory physiology. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Physiotherapy Assessment Management, Exercise Science, and Methods for Health Examination.
Professor Frisk previously led the Movement and Function (BeFu) research group (2019-2021) and will resume leadership in 2025. She contributed to Norway's National COPD Guidelines (2022) through the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
