Benoit Gaultier

Benoit Gaultier is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zurich's Philosophical Faculty, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy. He holds a PhD from the Jean Nicod Institute and University Paris-Est (2011) and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions including the University of Helsinki (2014–2015) and the Collège de France (2015–2024). Currently, he co-directs the SNF-funded research project Suspension of Judgement: Its Nature and Norms and teaches courses on epistemology, pragmatism, and philosophy of language. His research focuses on epistemology, pragmatism, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics, with notable contributions to debates on belief norms, epistemic responsibility, and the nature of essence.
