Benjamin Rudenga

Benjamin Rudenga is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame, where he has been serving since 2024. Previously, he held adjunct faculty roles at Notre Dame (2017–2024), Saint Mary’s College (2015–2020), Ivy Tech Community College (2014–2016), and several institutions in Connecticut between 2012 and 2013.

His research background lies in immunology, but his current academic focus is on undergraduate biology education. He fosters a collaborative classroom environment that encourages curiosity and peer mentorship through undergraduate teaching assistants.

Benjamin is committed to educational equity and diversity in STEM, having participated in the Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity Seminars at Notre Dame (2023–2024). His teaching philosophy integrates inclusivity, guided discussion, and writing to enhance student engagement and success.
